In order to present the Avant Garde typography to a curious and knowledgable audience, I decided to tell its story in a book. We learn more about Herb Lubalin, its creator and what makes that font so unique.
To tell this story, I was inspired by the birth of that font: the magazine Avant Garde. The font was specifically created for that magazine that used to talk about American society, photography, politics, graphic design and erotism.
