Bunnies In The Snow



During Game Jam course, which involves designers and programmers, we were tasked to create a co-op game based on animals. We went on to create a game about two bunnies caught in a storm trying to meet and build a shelter.
Each player controls one of the bunnies, together they explore the world, strive to meet and build a shelter.

Megaphone – Emits sound waves
Carrot – Enlarges the field of view
Mushrooms – Negative effect, confuses the player keyboard

  
In order to win the game, the players need to collect the items required for building a shelter.

   
Like most of the game's design, the skeleton of the characters is inspired by Pokémon games from the era of the GameBoy Advanced. Although the game is 2D, we tried creating a 3D "cell-shading" look. All animations are frame-by-frame. Emphasis was given towards animating a stressed feel into the bunnies.
The raccoons were planned to be the nemesis of the bunnies, but during the game development we decided to focus more on exploring and finding the collectables.
    
The game's world is designed to challenge the players while exploring, yet make zones that are recognisable enough so the players can orient in the environment.
