The Color Shop Logo

This was my entry for the Color Shop Logo contest. Although it was one of the shortlisted entries, ultimately it did not get picked. TCS sells amazing post-processing sets that help perfect images and achieve mind-blowing results. I urge you to visit their website.

What was asked: a stamp-like design that subtly incorporates something about photo filters/photography.It should be modern, compact & minimalistic, and must have the words 'The Color Shop' or 'TCS.'

The idea that first popped into my head is how a stamp-like circular design obviously resembles the front view of a photographic lens. I came up with a design that suitably incorporates these ideas of photo filters/photography not only through the four symbols that circle the center element but also the two segmented rings that remind the many rings usually present in a lens. The organic element in the center of the logo brings softness to the design and helps to balance out the predominant geometric features. Also, it seemed only right to include an organic element to a design that offers to represent The Color Shop. The logo is not meant to be a static, rigid symbol, but a living design that, in resemblance to an actual manually stamped graphic, may change in color, position or texture. That being so, the logo might have rough or sharp edges, it might be textured or solid in color, and it may be either slightly rotated or perfectly upright. Either placed on a clean background or over a photograph, it will most definitely serve its purpose in a modern, compact and minimalist way.
