This weave pattern was designed using the WeaveMaker software. I used a system in which each letter of my name corresponded to a weave structure. I was inspired by the meaning of my name, "Dweller of the Sea," and used colors and textures from the sea as my influences. This piece was woven, dyed, and felted to achieve a textured, organic, and dimensional surface.
This project involved painting the warp yarns for two scarves. Each scarf was dyed and woven by hand.  Both scarves are woven in an 8-harness honeycomb pattern.  
This wall hanging is inspired by the work of weaver Sheila Hicks. I chose to exploit the traditional warp structure by using tapestry techniques to create variations in form and composition.
