Green Jellies and Finlandia: Package renewal of the marmalades with a royal history
Green Jellies and Finlandia are iconic Fazer products, with a history extending to the beginning of 20th Century. These marmalades are an integral part of especially Christmas celebration in Finland, although they are manufactured year-round and also exported for international markets.
Finlandia marmalades are a delicacy with a royal story behind them. The colourful treats were given by Fazer as coronation gifts to King Edward VII in 1902 and to Queen Elisabeth in 1947 as her wedding gift. The original box was wooden and had the illustration of the coronation crown.
The renewal of the classic was to be made in a way that brings the historic story and visuals into today, without losing the elements that are unique and recognizable.
