Landmarker for a Nuclear Waste Site

Communication lies in the very core of advent of the anthroposcene. The meanings it bears differ through spatiotemporal subtleties of culture. Its basis, however, are always deeply rooted in its respective contexts. Charting said meanings leads to the conclusion that the ultimate context for every communicate sapient beings can pass to one another are the rules organizing the universe.
Hence, the laws of physics, periodic table and biochemical reactions are to be a central part of the marker placed above the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. The communicate is to compel to its explorers regardless of the civilization they are part of, and its development progress. Thus, we created a deeply layered information, affecting its researchers in accordance with their intellectual capabilities.
the hollow tomb
Underground, where chill inside the mound contrasts with the heat of the day, the artificial oaisis is located. It is dychotomic in its nature, both luring and strangely apalling. It is there, where unseen and yet objective science as a mean of both subconscious and conscious passive institutional control is used – the biochemical processes and the color of the water influence the explorers and rise the awareness on the topic of what the site is. Programmed decay of the site, with erosion and desertation taken into consideration, add to the future cultural value of it, rendering the marker as a place of heritage and memory slipping through the veil of remembrance.
the obscure
The idea – spatial elaboration on the sublime and the anthorposcenic – tackles the issue of the void and evokes the image of a burial mound, which is found across most cultures of the world. From the outside – the structure refers to the past, showing a clearly man-made opening into the tomb. Inside – window to the future – showing the promise of a better tomorrow. Yet, everything inside the marker evokes uneasiness, from the scale and form, to the presence of red water itself, suggesting the omnious nature of the place. Even the journey into the marker itself is designed to be a warning – a tampering, triangular, dark and long passage with the writings and symbols carved into the walls signalize the danger buried deep beneath the earth.
