‘Waste and Insanity’ is a silk screen printed poster series and installation about the Estonian Punk culture in the early 90s.
It is based on the private photo archive of a member of this subculture in the post-Soviet era. Recycling is an important aspect in the series insofar as it was the way for the Punks in Estonia to create their own expressive style by transforming mainstream clothes into individual pieces. As a result the posters are printed on found paper, that brings it’s own content to the series.
