"Cooking with..." is a serie of cookbooks that focus on one ingredient per issue.

I created and designed the cover system of this serie. This cover system had three goals:

First it had to reflect the playful aspect of cooking at home, which is a joyful experience for both parents and children. Second, the covers had to echoe the authenticity of the dishes created with the recipes found in the books. Last but not least, the book covers had to be functional to make their declination easier, and for each book of the serie to be recognizable.

To echoe the playfulness of cooking, that is promoted by the bookserie, illustrations have been created. These illustrations are a playful and contemporary reinterpretation of some graphic codes found in the cooking world. These illustrations enliven the covers. The idea of authenticity is reflected by the typography choices. The main typeface is a highly contrasted Bodoni that has an assertive personality. At last, the simple, clear and ideologically modern layout fulfils the functional purpose of this cover serie.
