The treehouse is designed for people living in the temple, who usually study Dharma or traditional Chinses classics and sometimes do the meditation.
In the backyard of the temple there is a big red wood which is over 250 years old. I choose it as the ideal tree to achieve this design, because it is big and strong enough and the location is very peaceful and beautiful.
For protecting the tree and treehouse, I designed an elastic structure which is kind of like the suspension system on sports car. The structure grabs the trunk with claws and is able to transform to adapt the new diameter of the trunk within certain range,  when the tree growing.
The treehouse has two single rooms which can be used separately or used together as one big room by opening the wall in the middle. There are two folding tables hidden on the wall, one for each room.
The main methods of manufacturing the parts of metal structure are CNC laser cutting and bending. All parts are then fixed together with bolts.
