Here is an example of how I use Tableau Software to show the data from a 5 level (Likert scale) question.
In this hypothetical example, I analyze school data to show parent's feelings towards various aspects of their child(ren)'s learning:
Users of this Tableau can also switch from Percentages to Averages. The closer a school subject (Math, Science, Social Studies, etc.) is to 5.0, the more positively that subject is viewed by the child's parents.
As you can see below, parents have the most positive feelings toward Math and the most negative feelings toward Foreign Language:
