The slogans of PRL

This series was inspired by the warning signs and slogans, which promoted political views and personal grooming, commonly used during the period of Polish People's Republic (1947-1989). Some of them were originally published in a form of posters, while others existed as common sayings. As the time progressed many of them became outdated and nowadays some of them seem quite humorous.

Since I was born in 1991 I am familiar with Polish People's Republic (1947-1989) mostly through stories and movies, so I decided to made my own modern version of PRL posters. In conjunction with the illustrations I try to show the absurdity of this time through the eyes of somebody that didn't experience the life in this period of time. The series was made in in the style characteristic of the PRL.
