René Gruau, together with David Downton is one of my role models in fashion illustration. They combine top craftmanship and realism with expressionism. On top of all they're the masters of omission. You don't need to draw every line. It is my own belief that a drawing should engage the viewer, so I'm actually trying to let your brain do some of the work.
