Touch device S.M.A.K. MUSEUM (GENT, BELGIUM)

For this project we had to create a touch device for the S.M.A.K. museum in Gent, Belgium. This could be anything from a tablet to a touch wall, I opted for a touchtable.
After extensive research of what kind of device I should use/create, I came up with the idea of using a touchtable. One of the reasons was, quite simply, the fact that S.M.A.K. museum has an enormous entrance hall which is not filled at the moment. Having that in mind, I created a touchtable of 1m in width and 3.8m in length. By doing this, I made the table accessible for 10 people at the same time.
When the table is not being used, there is a selection of artworks displayed in the museum. By clicking on one, you can find a little information about that artwork like the artists name, when it was created and the name of the artwork.
As you can see I've opted for a simple and self-explaining lay-out so every person, every age can use this device. The colors give it a bright and modern touch while keeping the device itself minimal.
Below you can find a small self-running demo of what the table would look like when being used.
All images belong to the S.M.A.K. museum in Gent, Belgium and are of course copyrighted. The concept and idea is mine and is also under copyright.
