Yandex Illustration Style Exploration
The main goal of this project was to develop an illustration style that could be universally applied across Yandex's various sub-brands, including Taxi, Delivery, Cleaning, Market, Weather, Food, Music, Movies, and more. The illustrations needed to strike a balance between clarity and emotional appeal, enhancing the user experience and strengthening the brand's visual identity.
My primary focus was to identify two distinct types of illustrations: Explainer and Emotional illustrations, each serving a unique purpose in capturing the attention and imagination of our users.
The Emotional illustrations played a distinct role in capturing the viewer's attention through vivid and contrasting imagery. These illustrations were designed to be unconventional, offering a delightful and enjoyable visual experience to our users. While the Emotional illustrations did not aim to literally match the accompanying text, they still maintained a recognizable connection with users, often featuring expressive faces and other familiar elements.
