The 'Desert Park' should be seen as an ecological and natural sanctuary in the middle of the desert inviting the user to have and enjoy a new life experience through various available Activities that would help them with the healing process.

What really makes it stand out is having the added value of achieving maximum welfare and comfort through Design.

Site

The site is located in Southern Sinai as a destination for different kinds of tourism,it's 1 km away of Hammam Pharaon which is a natural sulfur water spring known to be one of the most famous springs and a sought after destination for medical tourism in Egypt.

Main Concept

Creating a Park that brings all of Sinai's natural elements to the user in order to have the full Experience.

Therapeutic approach : Eco-therapy

A wide range of treatment programs which aim to improve mental and physical well-being through doing outdoor Activities in nature.Connecting with nature in this way can have lots of positive health benefits.

As nature has the ability to simulate the senses and become an active healer itself, it helps in minimizing the negative effects of stress on the body, guiding a positive physical and psychological response to environments in ways that maximum the effectiveness of curricula medical treatments and procedures.

This can be achieved through doing various outdoor activities, in addition to that the resort provides indoor medical care and rehabilitation to help the users getting the maximum advantage of their trip.

The Mountain

Idea development

The Hotel and the Hospital mass was inspired from the Formation of the mountain and its movement,As every floor can be accessed through outdoor stairs.

These stairs give the user many options, whether to enter the hotel to reach rooms and other facilities or to stay outdoor sitting by green areas and artificial lakes enjoying the view and connecting with nature around.

The Canyons in my opinion will be the users' favorite element in the park as it has multi functions, just walking through it gives various feelings with the changing heights,shapes and formations, the width of the paths itself changes from a place to another, the Rivery movement of the pathways motivates the user to explore the place and walk further.

At certain points users will find ramps and stairs that take them up to the top of the canyons, some of these places are customized for Activities such as meditation and yoga, some are gathering points where people can just sit, connect and enjoy the view.

Creating canyons in the site will be achieved through Sand Fabrication methods

A Model made using this method

Using the natural elements of Sinai "sand and sun-rays" and digital architecture can make the best results, as sand dunes can be used as a building material by intensifying the sun rays which can transform the sand granules to a solid matter creating a glass structure.

Strategies: Fabricating layers of sand -taken from the sand dunes crest- by using high-tech robotics and 3D printing.

The Oasis

The oasis gives a new therapeutic experience in the hot tub and the fresh water of the oasis itself, in addition to vast green areas around that provide shade and cool air and a waterfall filtering the water providing a new dynamic view.

It's considered as a place connecting people together to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding area.

A restaurant viewing the oasis is there in the around canyons for the users to enjoy their meals with just the perfect view.
