ALPHA
X-PARTICLES CHALLENGE 2017

This is my entry into the 2017 X-Particles Challenge competition.

Inspired by the 'cloud chamber' particle detector experiment, whereby decaying alpha particles are visualised in a sealed box filled with supersaturated alcohol vapour. The charged alpha particle from a radioactive element such as uranium ionises the gas in its wake, creating the characteristic vapour trails.

X-Particles used for: Main particle trails, atmospheric mist, dust particles, various holographic elements including advected grid.

Cinema 4D, Redshift, Nuke.
