Starting from the idea of bringing back the golden age of Follonica city from the industrial times marking a strong identity to the school that will represent a factory producing the future of Follonica by providing the best environment for the student to be prepare for the tomorrow world in terms of deep connections between the Context, Environment and the Identity of the area.
The analysed area is the area were once there was the Racecourse. Today the area is completed transformed by a project that include a parking lots and an hill, supposed to be used as a natural open-air amphitheater. Each Friday morning the space of the parking lots is also used as market space, and take place the big market of Follonica with a lots of local products.
Compact design, harmony with the context and letting the building to breath by separating it while keeping the same organic entity. Sun direction optimizing each of the two schools and creating public and semi pubic focus points around the school. Using Follonica’s industrial buildings morphology as a further connection with the context.
