Bouquet Of Street Maps, Paris Collection, 2012 was inspired by street maps of Paris and vintage floral tapestry. I chose the city of Paris because of its powerful and inspiring history, and the interesting shapes and curves in it's map. I wanted to 'deconstruct' the map to make it almost unrecognizable to the viewer, unless of course they had memorized it. Some pieces are little cutouts of one part of the city, while others are separate cutouts placed together.
Each piece is carefully cut out, sanded, fired to Cone 04, sanded again, glazed and fired to Cone 6. After that decals are cut out and placed in specific spots on the pieces, and then fired to cone 018 for a final firing. This line came out in June 2012.
