As the subject of my thesis, I have constructed a board game. When selecting the topic, I have held the following facts in regard: it had to be a current and actual theme with an educational aim and last but not least, it had to be exciting and entertaining for the players. The aim of the game is to save as many endangered animals as the player can from an area where trees are being cut down. The players have to save the animals before the time and their tokens are up and before all the trees are cut down, this way leaving no space for the animals to live. A significant number of environmentalists think that early education is very important to those who are educated environmentally from early age, this kind of behavior is natural in their adulthood.
The reason I have chosen this theme is that I hoped to educate the children, so they can face the problems threatening future generations through games-playfully. In addition, in the game’s manual we can read a lot of interesting information about the animals in a form of pop-up sections.
