Final Book Cover: "Isla"
sketch one: deciding on a title - "Isla and the Quest for the Bee," was my original idea but I wasn't sold. I was just figuring out the letterforms I wanted to used and the textures that would be included throughout the story.
sketch two: playing with a new title idea,"Isla and the Search for the Stripes," and figuring out a more specific typeface. I liked having Isla placed with the text but needed a better solution for the wordy title ideas.
Isla is the wordless story of a little explorer named Isla who has an obsession with collecting bees after her parents never returned from their last bee catching expedition. The illustration series follows her quest to catch all the striped insects in her sight to feel closer to her parents and finish what they started.
