In order to create an add to celebrate Christmas Day I decided to design this illustration using flat design, I decided to reflect my minimalistic style using geometric shapes as you can tell the main shape is the circle since this shape represent love, infinity and bounds, was the perfect example of was Christmas represent.

In the negative as you can appreciate you can tell the how the main shape is the circle, the only non circular shapes you can find in the illustration is the triangle and this is only because well is the simplest way to represent the ICONIC Christmas tree.

The color palette was a little bit complicated to chose, mainly because I tried to avoid the basic and most popular christmas colors witch are red, green and gold.

I got the inspiration for this palette in a funny way, while I was driving home I got stuck in traffic; while I was waiting in there i realize I had a perfect view of the mountains or sierras (that´s how we called a chain of mountains in México) the colors were amazing like a deep blue from the far, and then the song blue Christmas started to play on my playlist and suddenly came straight to my head that´s the palette I need to use in my illustration.

Blue color in the United States means sad, but in Mexico means life because it´s the color of the sky and the sea two perfect examples of life and ecosystems  and that's what it means to me Christmas life and family.
