Pausanias Books is an independent publishing house that mainly publishes travel guides and travel literature, with focus in art and history. The publishing house is named after Pausanias, a Greek traveler and one of the earliest travel writer in history.
The logo derives from the Greek letter Pi, as the first letter in “Pausanias.” The central shape could also be interpreted as a portal, as travel is a gateway to know the world; or as a staple, which ias related publishing. The outer circular shape symbolizes the globe. The logotype is set in Bembo, a renaissance old-style serif typeface, to reflect the focuses of the publishing house, which are art and history.
