Studio K95 – Personal branding Year 2018
Logotype K95 is made by the first letter of the Catania’s greek name - Katané - and the first two numbers of the city ZIP code , number 95. Since we wanted to make the logotype as peculiar and effective as possible, we putted together geometric letters with a linear and round font, the Urania. Using as a model the logotype's letters, we have designed a font used for our visual identity, the k95 alphabet. The ‘corporate image’ shows photos of monuments located nearby our studio. Many elements of the visual identity are designed with traditional printing processes - letterpress - such as business card which has small cuts inside of the logotype. We made the choise of the cuts to let the viewer see the city through our brand and our point of view.
Il nome K95 è stato ideato accostando all'iniziale del nome greco di Catania - Katané - il numero 95, prefisso del cap che identifica la provincia. Il logotipo è composto da lettere geometriche progettate e disegnate per renderlo quanto più caratteristico e visibile possibile, associandolo poi ad un carattere lineare e tondo, l'Urania. Utilizzando come modello le lettere del logotipo si è progettato un font, impiegato nella costruzione dell’identità visiva, il K95 alphabet. La corporate image presenta immagini raffiguranti monumenti caratteristici dei luoghi localizzati nei pressi dello studio. Molti artefatti che compongono l'identità visiva sono stati realizzati utilizzando i processi di stampa tradizionali - letterpress - come ad esempio il biglietto da visita che presenta dei tagli nelle parti interne del logotipo. L’idea alla base di questi tagli è quella di permettere al fruitore di vedere la città attraverso il nostro marchio, il nostro punto di vista.
