— nuovi orizzonti
photography and editorial design project

— concept
When we talk about new horizons (nuovi orizzonti), the first thing we think about is the future, a more or less close, more or less utopian horizon. I often think about the future, but unfortunately (or fortunately) I can not have a clear vision of it. What I see, are moments in which things take on a particular form, moments in which fragments of my world mix unexpectedly and unpredictably, moving in nothingness and aggregating by chance and causality.

The case is the fundamental element of this project, the result of actions aimed at obtaining a result that can only be partially predicted, the acceptance of the unexpected and its staging. But there is also the will, which is opposed to chance and tries to integrate it and foresee its moves: the will chooses the elements with which to interact, the case mixes them in a more or less unexpected way and creates, for brief moments, a vision unexpected and surprising.

The case and the will are therefore the elements that I have chosen to analyze in this project: on the one hand my desire to compose and the choice of the elements to be used, and on the other the design of the case that pulls the strings and messes up every program being able to create beauty (or not).

The case creates indistinct, ephemeral figures, impossible to recreate, which are fixed through photography before they cease to exist forever. Figures that represent themselves in a different way and adapt to the eyes and mindset of those who look at them, who draw their conclusions in a totally personal way, sometimes trying to force the figure to show itself, even when it does not exist, others losing themselves in shades of color of something changing that through photography is fixed to be shared.
