A New concept of air purifier using water curtain

Unlike many people think that a air purifier alone can clean out fine dusts perfectly, appropriate ventilation is needed for clean air. Sun Shower is a new concept of air purifier that ventilates and purifies at the same time by using the principle of water curtain.


워터커튼을 이용한 신개념 공기청정기
많은 사람들이 공기청정기로 미세먼지를 완벽하게 해결할 수 있다고 생각하는 것과 달리, 깨끗한 공기를 위해서는 적절한 환기가 필요하다.
Sun Shower는 워터커튼의 원리를 이용, 창틀에 거치해 환기와 정화를 동시에 수행하는 신개념 공기청정기이다.

The concentration of ultrafine dust in Korea is getting worse over the years,
while 1.6 million people were killed by air pollution in Northeast Asia in 2014.
대한민국의 초미세먼지 농도는 해를 거듭할 수록 심각해지고 있으며,
동북아시아에서는 2014년, 160만명의 사람들이 대기오염으로 인해 사망했다.

Contrary to the general idea that the air in enclosed space is to be clean, ventilation is indispensable
because many fine dusts are generated in our daily chores such as gas cooking, bedding, and so on.
Based on this situation, we have devised a method to clean and ventilate the air at the same time.
We devised a 'water curtain' type air cleaner that generates water vapor through water drop and uses it as a filter.
밀폐된 공간의 공기가 깨끗할 것이라는 일반적인 생각과는 달리,
가스를 이용한 조리, 이불 털기 등 실내생활에서도 많은 미세먼지가 발생해 환기는 반드시 필요하다.
이러한 상황에 기반해 환기와 동시에 공기청정을 가능하게 하는 방식을 고민하였고, 물의 낙하를 통해 수증기를 발생시켜
이를 필터로 사용하는 '워터커튼' 방식의 공기청정기를 고안하였다.

여우비 이야기
영감의 원천
In the East Asia, the old story tells us that a cloud that crushed on a fox were called "Fox rain", and it poured the rain because of the sadness of the fox at its wedding. In order to make a water curtain, We designed the design story by visualizing it as a rainbow of rain briefly falling on a sunny day.
동아시아에는 여우를 짝사랑하던 구름이 여우의 결혼식을 보며 슬퍼서 우는 비를 여우비라고 했다는 옛이야기가 전한다.
워터커튼을 만들기 위해 떨어지는 물줄기를 맑은 날에 잠깐 내리는 비인 여우비로 형상화하여 디자인 스토리를 구상했다.

It is designed to operate the air purifier with a simple move by pulling the switch that brought the motive
from the shaking bell under the eaves. 
풍령을 당기다
처마 밑 흔들리는 풍령에서 모티브를 가져온 스위치를 적용, 당기는 단순한 동작으로 공기청정기가 작동할 수 있게 고안하였다.

Easy to install

A high elasticity spring is built inside the frame and it can be easily installed by adjusting it
to the height of the window frame.
간단한 설치
프레임 내부에 고탄성 스프링을 내장, 창틀의 높이에 맞게 조절해 누구나 손쉽게 설치가 가능하다.

Replaceable water tank
Interactions

The water used for the purification is circulated in and out of the device several times and works as a natural filter.
If the turbidity becomes too high, the water can be easily removed and replaced with clean water.
교체 가능한 수조
정화용으로 사용되는 물은 수차례 기기 안팎을 순환하며 천연 필터역할을 수행하고,
탁도가 지나치게 높아질 경우 손쉽게 꺼내서 깨끗한 물로 교체가 가능하다.
