Christmas toy - Bite

Christmas toy key visual is a holiday themed print for an ad campaign "Prices you were not expecting". For the winter holiday season we were asked to create a unique, retro looking glass Christmas toy with an expression full of surprise. We ended up sculpting it in 3D applying a custom paint job with a nice glossy finish. The outcome of the project is this adorable surprised Santa on a natural and minimal looking Christmas tree. We made sure he would get the maximum attention, which he definitely deserves!

The aim of the campaign was to emphasize amusement of how great the holidays deals and discounts are, but the first sculpt was not portraying the emotion strong enough. To solve that, a decision was made to raised the arms of the glass Christmas toy. Final sculpt has a more natural pose and emotion of surprise. Clay model was used to create the base lighting, check the reflections and overall state of the shapes. Finally, texture maps were created to paint and finalize the look of the santa character.
