Photography in the fourth dimension
The Big Ship
These photographs are the product of an exploration based in discovering aesthetic universes. This is the fourth dimension. A space-time based exploration which defines an aesthetic, bringing the time as a visual variable and the space as an abstract stage.
This project offers the opportunity for the viewer to understand the relation between the viewer and space.
The lens is placed in the centre of the universe capturing everything in its path.
The objects and figures become spectra since the position (x, y) that they have in reference to the lens will mark its frame in the photo. The position (z), the focus. The time (t) its size.
According to this explanation:
- The (x) and (y) axes will behave in 2D and the relation the object have with them will be the same in the photo than in the world
- The (z) axis will behave in 3D, its the depth. The closer the object is to the lens, the sharper
- The (t) axis will behave in 4D, its the time. The longest the exposure of the
object to the lens, the bigger would be in the image
