While algorithms do a pretty neat job when it comes to suggesting content, they can’t always match our tastes. A few content curators, though, can bring us content that we really want to see - we have similar interests. These curators may share a video or a few of them (just like a playlist) and they will be shown in your feed. In the same tab, you can also see videos shared by your friends without having to check the “activity” tab.
Your feed contains content shared by curators you follow and videos shared by your friends.
