2017 L'archivio scavato
First part of a Master’s degree thesis on three private archives in Matera which have recently been recognized by the Ministero dei Beni Culturali as historically and culturally significant.
This work aims not only at researching the material within the archives, but also at finding engaging ways to communicate and divulge
it to a larger public through the means of graphic design. To this end, each of the archives has been provided with an individual identity, built upon purposely designed typefaces: these draw from elements highlighted in the archival material, in an effort to bring the archives out from anonymity.
