A REAL WORLD?
For the present age, which prefers the sign to the thing signified, the copy to the original, representation to reality, the appearance to the essence...illusions only is sacred, truth profane. Also, in semiotics and postmodernism, hyperreality is an inability of consciousness to distinguish reality from a simulation of reality especially in technologically advanced postmodern societies. Hyperreality is seen as a condition in which what is real and what is fiction are seamlessly blended together so that there is no clear distinction between where one ends and the other begins.
My project aims to illustrate this hyperreality in our modern world through an animation. I'd like to show a hyperreal world to question if it is a real world for us.
