Little Ghost is a mushroom like creature grows out from a floating island, or rather I'd say he's chained to the physical reality. Watching starlight brightening up the sky makes him believe that he belongs to the sky. This fascination of that unreachable world carried him away. He may not notice it, yet we can tell he's foolhardy effort has changed his physical being and put himself into a dangerous position. But who cares. He is now one step closer to his dream, which is probably the real purpose of his existence.
