Waveomatic Street Dance-Popping Festival

For this student project it was asked to design the visual identity for a Festival of a subject or a person of our choice.
Waveomatic Street Dance-Popping Festival is a tribute to Nicholas James Birakos known as Wave-O-matic, one of the most innovative and influential street dance instructors. He is widely recognized as the person who perfected the style of waving.
He taught and inspired dancers from around the world and had been a judge at international street dance
events and competitions. He also wrote, played and recorded music, all of which is in his inspiring tutorial videos on YouTube.
Waveomatic Street Dance-Popping Festival is a 2 days festival including the projections of WaveOmatic's interview for Chinafunk and his video dance-tutorial "The art of dance-waving", as well as popping, waving and tutting workshops and a popping contest.
Logotype
The general design for the festival is based on triangle, sine and square soundwaves which form the letter "W".
Day #1 is focused on the style of waving (smooth-liquid movements) so the design for day#1 is based on the sine soundwave. Day #2 is focused on the style of tutting (the body creates geometric positions such as boxes) so the design for day#2 is based on the square soundwaves.
