MODO App | Financial education for youth

CONTEXT
The aim of education should be to prepare us for the challenges of adult life. A subject like mathematics must be geared to teach us its number one utility for 99% of the population – dealing with money! This project is predicated on managing one’s financial resources sustainably.

OBJECTIVE
Design instructional material to create awareness and financial education that appeals to the youth. This could include—learning the skills to create a budget, the ability to track spending, learning the techniques to pay off debt and effectively planning for the future.
Research
Involved investigating the current level of understanding of youngsters, with respect to their finances through personal interviews, surveys and secondary sources.
Content Mapping
Identifying the subjects and principles that are critical to manage their resources.
Devising content 
Simple graphic solutions to simplify jargon and explain concepts.
Visual representation of mutual funds: It is formed with capital collected from numerous investors and invested in mix of different bonds, shares or stock; managed collectively to earn higher returns. Varied degree of risk involved.
Visual representation of shares. Depicts volatile nature (high risk) as well as the possibility of higher return on investment.
The onboarding for the non-native web app is user input driven. The user journey starts at a multiple choice checklist of aspirations that is used to calculate how much money the user needs in the future. On seeing the calculated amount he/she needs to earn, they are directed to the homepage.
