The “you can’t sit with us” tagline was coined together not due to an attitude problem but rather the fact that customers simply cannot sit at JEM Coffee, as it is a pop-up store located in a garage. The location of JEM ultimately established who the target audience would be; this being every second Capetonian that experiences the frustration of early morning traffic.
Thus, we created a solution. The first-of-its-kind coffee app, which enables users to pre-order a coffee, and have it delivered right to their car door on Kloofnek (a road in Cape Town infamous for its traffic congestion). Linked to a license plate, location of the user, and a debit or credit card, the app works as simply as that.
