INTAGLIO
Intaglio or Printmaking is the art of printing techniques in which the image is incised or etched into a surface and the incised line or sunken area holds the ink. 
Here a Copper plate is etched using traditional form of printmaking that delivers beautiful crisp line work and a wonderful unique aesthetic.
Before the drawing is printed on paper using printing press, it involves an intense process of engraving through corrosive action of acid.

Akua Intaglio carbon black ink
Copper plate: 12.5 cm x 10 cm
Project done at ENSAD, Paris

First impression of the plate
Second impression of the plate; notice addition of bricks on the wall
Third impression of the plate; notice bricks shading and a darker window
Experimenting with ink before taking impression
