INDUSTRIAL DESIGN ENGINEERING SCREWDRIVER PROJECT

This project involved the construction of a screwdriver in parts which would then be assembled and rendered onto suitable background images to show the extent of my CAD rendering abilities to date. It is a university project for fourth semester of first year Industrial Design at University of South Africa.
The design progressed from the drawings into CAD modelling with a few ideas using basic extrudes and revolves. The design was too simple.
Here we have the finished renderof the assembled screwdriver, where I chose red to match the colour of my Alfa Romeo car that was the inspiration.
I then selected an appropriate image from the internet, to create an adequite setting for the render to give it a context of use. The logo was also cropped using mask on Coreldraw.

Here I placed the object render over the desired area and using the clone tool in Photopaint, I blended the area around the screwdriver to erase the underlying chisel.
Finally, some screws were wasked and scattered around the render to add more character.
This is an additional render to give a basic scale to the screwdriver.
This image shows the use of the object in a human orientated environment.
