Triangler tandem bike

Triangler is a tandem bike designed for a  two adults and an additional back space where a seat for a young child or luggage can be attached. The shape of the frame was influenced by geometrical modern shapes. Finite Element Analysis was used to adjust design and ensure it is up to specification, particularly that it supports users' weight and does not vibrate at a frequency which would cause discomfort to the cyclists.
Estimate weights of users and gravity forces were applied to the model which was fixed at the wheel attachment points. Simulations included static and dynamic stresses and dominant frequency analysis as well as buckling and fatigue to ensure that the bike ha an appropriate longevity.
Design iterations based on FEA simulations
Based on the study results the original design was changed. Additional supports were added before the final design met all the set criteria.
