Mindset
Accessible space for stress recovery

The Mindset is a conceptual space for the urban environment that allows a person to unwind without the presence of social pressure and hopes to serve as a means to prevent burnouts caused by excessive stress.

Located at the borders of public space, the replicable construction is windowless and soundproofed, offering only private solo use for a fixed-duration reservation. It is comprised of a small dressing room, round projection room with soft walls and integrated audiovisual- and sensor technology, and an equipment room for necessary technical devices and wiring.
The idea for the space was ignited by the increased amount of work disabilities caused by the fast-paced work environment and static nature of jobs. It is a problem accentuated by the urban environment, where stressors are more present, nature's healing properties less accessible and social norms restrict behaviour.

The concept utilises stress recovery methods in the form of an interactive audiovisual experience that provokes and encourages the user into action, distraction and relaxation using elements that can be personally tweaked. Later the experience is rated through an associated app where the user can also monitor their sessions and progress. The space is supposed to learn more about its user from collected sensor data, personally set preferences and user ratings. With frequent use the space gradually evolves into an intuitive extension of the user: a personal mind set.
