Parametric Roof Systems
.
An elective
which explores the oppurtunites presented in parametric practice, which concluded in the design of a fully articulated roof structure for a full size football field. The entire structure is modelled entirely through parametric software, in this case Grasshopper for Rhino 3D, and a number of parameters are made to be varied. For example the overall area and shape of the roof structure is automatically altered depending on whether the roof of the stadium is for a football field, rugby field or a series of tennis courts.

Grasshopper was used to make the Stadium fully adjustable, and to parametrically respond to alter pre-designed variables.
The Elevational "Lip" to acoomodate the entrance to the stands can be varied.
The number of panels which make up the overall roof skin can be freely adjusted to accomodate more/less ventilation.
The Final Roof Height can be adjusted depending on the number of rows of seating the stand portion of the structure accomodates.
The overall shape of the stand and roof alter depending on whether we accomodate Rugby/Football/Tennis grounds.
