Yōshoku Experimental Restaurant

— Yōshoku

Yōshoku is an experimental restaurant in France blending Japan and Europe, East and West, salt and sweet. The menu is a genuine rebirth of Japanese classics finely blended with French gourmet modernism. Yōshoku is more than food — it is a cross-cultural experiment with style, taste, and traditions. Yōshoku (洋食) is a mixture of two words. "Yō" means "The West" and "shoku" — food.

The idea for the meeting between East and West is communicated through a serif and san serif typefaces. Even though those two contrasting concepts, the branding keeps it's simplicity and minimalistic style. The color palette is inspired by the soft pink leaves of Sakura, referring to Japan along with grey tones linking to the gourmet movements in the modern French cuisine.

The minimalistic style is enriched with hand-brushed details used as additional visual elements to the website reminding for a plate decoration. The paper used for the collateral feels natural and organic and as the origin of the menu.
