Ski Resorts of the West

Ski Resorts of the West
All ski resorts of the Western USA and Western Canada on one huge map.
On Kickstarter till 16 November:

The map shows all downhill ski resorts in Alaska, Alberta, Arizona, British Columbia, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming and the Yukon.
We decided to use the Lambert azimuthal equal-area projection. The backbone of our map consists of contour lines for every 1,000 feet of height, which makes each mountain range plastic and visible. Then we added roads and waters, cities and mountains as well as regional and country borders.
Finally, with the data provided by skiresort.info, we checked and marked all 246 ski resorts on the map.
We distinguish between small ski resorts with a total combined slope length of less than 5 miles, medium resorts with a combined slope length of 5 to 50 miles, and large resorts with more than 50 miles of slope.
For each ski area, we list the state, province or territory, minimum and maximum height, as well as green, blue, and black slope miles.
ast but not least, you will find infographical information for both the Canadian and the American part of the map, and for each of the 15 states, provinces, or territories.
We illustrated 36 of the highest, the most beautiful and the most prominent mountains of the area:
Denali (Alaska), Mount Saint Elias, Mount Vancouver (Alaska / Yukon), Mount Fairweather (Alaska / British Columbia), Mount Columbia, Mount Fay, Cascade Mountain (Alberta), Mount Assiniboine (Alberta / British Columbia), Humphreys Peak, Mount Wrightson, Baboquivari Peak (Arizona), Mount Robson, Golden Hinde (British Columbia), Mount Whitney, Mount Shasta, Minarets (California), Mount Elbert, Maroon Bells (Colorado), Borah Peak, Castle Peak (Idaho), Granite Peak, Mount Gould, Mount Grinnel (Montana), Boundary Peak, Wheeler Peak (Nevada), Wheeler Peak, Organ Needle (New Mexico), Mount Hood, Three Sisters (Oregon), Kings Peak, Mount Timpanogos (Utah), Mount Rainier, Mount Baker (Washington), Gannett Peak, Grand Teton (Wyoming), Mount Logan (Yukon).
Marmota Maps has an inexplicable affection for marmots. That's why we also designed six postcards with all North American species of marmots:
Alaska marmot, Groundhog, Hoary marmot, Olympic marmot, Vancouver Island marmot, Yellow-bellied marmot.
