A Video Campaign for Peace One Day
6-sec Bumpers and 30-sec Video

Peace One Day is an organization whose objective is to make September 21st an international day of peace. You can learn more about Peace One Day here: http://www.peaceoneday.org/

I was assigned to create five, 6-second bumper ads that would sit together to form one, 30-second video ad as a part of a campaign for Peace One Day. The target audience is millennials, and the focus is on spreading awareness about Peace One Day's global cause. I had to find a creative way to communicate a message of peace. I wanted my message to have depth, but I wanted the creative to be fun, simple, and consistent.

What if we all just got along? What if, for a moment, we gave peace a chance? This was my starting point. What if we shook hands with everyone we met? What if we held hands with our enemies? What if we made a pinky promise even when the promise was a difficult one to keep? I had my concept.

I created a series of videos that feature hands, and each clip focuses on a gesture of cooperation and friendship– peace between people in perhaps its purest form, on perhaps its purest level. I set them against a sky blue background because it's one of Peace One Day's colors, and I used John Lennon's "Give Peace a Chance" as the background music to help aid the message (and because I think the beat works perfectly). Each clip ends with the official Peace One Day logo– a lasting impact. Here they are:

Bumper #1: A Handshake
Bumper #2: A Pinky Promise
Bumper #3: A Helping Hand
Bumper #4: Holding Hands
Bumper #5: A Bump Shake
The 30-sec Video Ad: What if we all just got along?
