Vogon poetry - Hitchcock's guide to the galaxy fan art

Vogon poetry - Hitchcock's
guide to the galaxy fan art
In 2016, our art history teacher gave us a very fun and interesting assignment - we were asked to make a fan art centered around Vogon poetry and including text of it. However, we had been instructed to make this piece in the spirit of illustrated medieval manuscripts, with everything that goes with it. I loved working on it, and, like in manuscripts, I used limited poignant colors, like red, blue, green and golden, along with black. Text used is text of vogon song translated to Serbian/Montenegrin by our teacher.
Vogon poetry is third worst poetry in the galaxy, and is so terrible it's used in torture. Like in manuscripts, I used heavy decorations, and I imagined the colorful waves as screams of the victims, spreading throughout the page. Other decorations I loved adding were little stars and golden Vogon spaceship.
Work in progress:
First thing I did, is make a painting on paper, first with pencil, and then over it, I used comic markers, thin black pen, and golden color. Then, I scanned the image, and did paths for every line in Adobe Illustrator until I liked the result. Then, I progressed to color.
