O Poeta ~ Form and Content

O Poeta ~
Form and Content

The project aimed to explore the format and content of a book, using a sequence of words and images printed and open to all possibilities of experimentation and graphic creation in the form of a narration about a poem titled "autopsicografia" - Fernando Pessoa

The creation of this project was born of a proposal of University course Project that consisted in the graphic exploration of the form and the content in a book. My idea for the book format comes from the contrast in size and materials of a collection book versus a paperback book. Because size matters I downsized a collection book to became a paperback book without losing is premium properties.
The book was a tribute to the Portuguese People (O Povo) and my research became a timeline on cultural events were I used photography from the depot of the Biblioteca Nacional Portuguesa. The typography needs to be well chosen, but I was more dedicated into experimentation, so I decided to use typographic photos of some characters that I collected in a letterpress workshop, exploring more the narrative and arrangement of the letters.
