Habitats
These photographs could be rendered useless if they don't end up doing something for the things(animals) I click.

I try and do justice to the natural world and the fauna in the long run even though conservation is often anthropocentric.
A babbler couple
Black eared kite
Globe Skimmer dragonflies migrate from Southern India to Africa through Maldives where they consider the arrival of dragonflies to be a harbinger of the northeastern monsoons.
Dragonflies play an ecological role not only as predators but prey for birds and other creatures too. That's why often bird migration routes are on the same migration routes as those of dragonflies as they need sufficient nutrition.
Dragonflies eat harmful inscets like mosquito larvae, horseflies and deerflies. They are indicators for the presence of freshwater too.
A green Vinesnake
A senegal golden dartlet damselfly also known as common bluetail or marsh bluetail darting it's way through the thicket of glass blades.
A bullfrog
A Purple Sunbird(breeding male)
The male is glossy metallic purplish black on the upper parts with the wings appearing dark brown. A breeding male has the underparts of the same colour.
Even though I didn't spot any female sunbird nearby, breeding males may sometimes show their yellow pectoral tufts(visible in picture) in courtship displays where the male raises its head, fans its tail and flutters with partly open wings that expose the pectoral tufts and sings before the female.
There is a patch of bright blue on the shoulder of breeding male with the maroon shine on the feathers of the collar in breeding season.
