In February 2012, I accepted a commission, payed in lowcost tickets to arrive in London, to design in a couple of days a compact bulletin-like publication with a vey short budget, for the students at the Human Rights Program at London's Global University (UCL).

Approach
Being Human rights a subject generally neglected, not only the content had to be actual and catchy, but the visual also had to be attractive for the ones who'd normally pass by without noticing an Human Rights issue. Therefore standing out from the typical UCL's publications, this simple design was a success among the community, grabbing a bigger part of the target public than predicted, and thus collecting an unexpected amount of followers and new contributors for the on-going project.

Form
The solution was a single fold A3 (light brown/yellow)
1 side colour / 1 side B&W prints
7 articles between 230 and 1000 words , 4-6 images.


The cover doubles as poster, intended to be printed single in A3 and spread trough the campus, featuring a full article, several teasers, and all the data needed for easy access to the digital edition, blog etc...
It's build from Times New Roman only, good for low quality prints on low quality yellowish paper, but with a nice and modern arrangement of weights and kerning for titles, and on-the-limit small but very well readable articles.
As this issue was created to be a matrix for future editions, some design compromises were applied for the sake of future editions, like better generally adjusted settings for justification and kerning.
