Magazine Design
Client Brief: The Design Kids Published Magazine
Date: I don't remember.... I assume it was the middle of March 2017
This magazine design was my last work at Yoobee School of Design, so which means it's kind like my final external, the whole project took me around two and half weeks, the most problem I need to fix was how to keep the consistence of whole magazine.
The Design Kids is a web to introduce the latest design information to people, the web covers idea inspiration, designer's interview and lot of other useful informations. BUT The Design Kids doesn't have a published book for people to read. I know right now there are more and more people choose using E-book instead the traditional books, and the paper book will be disappeared destined one day, but there still have lots people prefer reading a paper book.
The whole book was based on black and white. Black and White are the most important two color in our world, and there is also any meaning for me.
When I was a kid, I judge the world with two option, right or wrong. There is no other options for me. I see the world in a "Black and White" ways. But than, I grow up, I understand besides black and white there also more other colors, which like gray.
So, to standout The Design "KIDS" , I choose using black and white as the base color and adorn the magazine with colored images.
Like I mentioned, I used to see the world in a Black AND White way, to broken this stupid stereotype, I cut a square hole on the back cover, when the reader read to the last page, they will see a colorful world though the square.
