The Process
Research of what has been done, reading the book, re-reading the book, and researching the author's intent was the first step in my process. Before I touched a pencil, I needed to look for hidden "nuggets" of information that would help me in my design process.
Several variations of sketches were chosen for refinement on the computer.

Final Concept
The final concept incorporates a vellum cover, printed on and laid over the text to give it a "smokey" look. The use of vellum is also a symbolic gesture of man vs. nature. A significant theme in Lord of the Flies.
