Intermediate Photography Blog

Today I start my blog for intermediate photography. Mrs. Hermsen said that this blog will be a good way to share our pictures and a good way to save them and make somewhat of a portfolio. Starting out I don't really know what to write but anyways I'm excited to try it out and see where it goes.

Today is also the day I finished my "dear photo" project. When I first started this project I didn't know how I was going to be able to write something deep and meaningful about a picture of me with my dog, but then some memories started flooding back. I started to think about my great aunt Sandy who was always fun to be around. She would hangout with me and my brother when none of the other adults wanted too. I'm glad I did this project because it reminded me to remember the past more and appreciate the people who make my life happier.

Today we had advisory. We talked about what helps us relax. Everyone went around the room sharing about how doing nothing is what helps them relax. I thought about it and I realized that if I was ever doing nothing I would get antsy and feel like I need to do something. I would be the opposite of relaxed. I decided that photography was the hobby that made me relax. I could walk around a neighborhood for hours, just by myself, taking pictures and thinking about how to take the best photo. For me that is calming and fun. I would have no pressure on me, I would be truly relaxed.

Today I went to a track meet. I had to wake up at 7:30 to make it to the school by 8:00 to catch the bus. It was exhausting but it was worth it because 1) I ran a good race and got a medal and 2) the course was pretty. The fog over the trees made it look mysterious and cool.
I am currently trying to put together a Hockney type photo with these pictures of Geese. His style is to put together a bunch of close up pictures to revel the big picture. This is kind of difficult because I probably should have taken more pictures of the sky but I will make it work.
I was looking through my photos and I came across some of my pictures I took while on vacation in Narragansett with my brother and cousin. We had a lot of fun there despite the colder weather. We stayed there for a week and my family friends Steven and Maria even came up and stayed a day. I miss summer!
We had our FCIAC cross country meet the other day and it went really well. The girls team came 4th overall and the boys team came 7th overall. Top 15 runners got 1st team FCIAC and the next 15 got 2nd team FCIAC. Keegan, Paige, and Lauren all made first team FCIAC for girls and got a medal and a t-shirt. I made 2nd team FCIAC. The day was really fun, especially after I had finished my event. We had to run a 4k which is shorter than a 5k but somehow more painful to me.
