The main concept behind the aesthetic of the book was to represent his way of working. He creates loads of sketches day by day in a small format, and then he uses these visual references for his bigger oil paintings. This creative process is represented by integrating a smaller book - with his sketches - inside of the whole, the bigger book. The three main parts of his thesis are also visually represented, by the use of different papers. The book was bound manually, totally by hand.
